Scholarship Opportunities

AAMC

Welcome to the AAMC scholarship program!

The mission of the Alaska Association of Municipal Clerks (AAMC) is to promote sound local government, continuing education and certification through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC).

AAMC Annual Conference Scholarship Information

Each year, proceeds raised through the tireless efforts of the Fundraising Committee and those who generously support the activities by purchasing raffle tickets, silent auction items, etc., AAMC is able to offer financial assistance to members who might not otherwise be afforded continuing education due to funding shortfalls. AAMC offers scholarships for Alaska Clerks to attend the Annual AAMC Conference, held in December.

The scholarships are funded 100% by fundraising, therefore, the number of scholarships awarded each year may vary depending on the success of the various fundraising activities.

Northwest Clerks Institute Scholarship Information

The job of Municipal Clerk has many challenges, responsibilities and grows more complex each year. Education of clerks statewide is a primary goal of AAMC. To assist with this goal, AAMC offers scholarships for Alaska Clerks to attend the Northwest Clerks Institute (NCI) at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington.

2026 NCI-PD Scholarship Application is CLOSED!

IIMC Foundation Scholarship & Grant Information

Visit the IIMC Foundation Scholarship web page for more information on scholarship opportunities.

The IIMC Foundation was created in 1984 to raise funds for IIMC. These funds are used to promote, train and educate Municipal Clerks to make them proficient in the services they provide for the citizens of their community. One of the many ways the IIMC Foundation helps IIMC members is through education scholarships and grant programs.

The International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) grants the Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation to Clerks who have completed three professional development sessions at NCI and who have fulfilled other experience requirements. Everyone who completes the Institute receives a certificate from the NCI Director, which meets a portion of the education requirements for certification.

IIMC Annual Conference Grants

The Conference Grant Program is designed to allow 2 IIMC members from each of IIMC’s 11 regions to attend the IIMC Annual Conference each may. If awarded a grant, the IIMC Foundation will cover the cost of your IIMC Annual Conference Registration.
